Temptation

It’s not strictly speaking about careers, but with the shops full of Christmas goodies I thought I’d raise this as I succumbed last year. The shops are full of very low cost tins of chocolates - Roses, Quality Street, Heroes etc.

There’s a reason they are on offer. They know we are weak and the chocolates we buy for presents and out won Christmas treats will sit in the cupboard and say “eat me” and if you are like me you will only be able to say no for so long. So we will eat them and then have to buy me. It doesn’t do us any good so we should say NO!.

How else can we be tempted?

I’ve been thinking on this and we can be tempted with our time to do things that are not actually what we should be doing for either our job or our job search and the time is lost.

We can also be tempted by seeing another job and thinking that it will be the perfect job for us, but is the grass really greener, maybe we are only seeing one side?

I’m off to a conference for the next two days - The Institute of Careers Guidance Conference and Exhibition, so might not get to post, but will make a note of things of interest.
