Amazing People - October career coaching newsletter is now available

October 2008

Welcome to the 95 new subscribers this month and my loyal readers. I aim to write things that will be useful so hence this months main article on managing your career in an economic downturn.

The recession is obviously hitting some groups of people more than others. If your career could be at risk time to be proactive in managing your future.

September saw me at my last festival of the season - so much mud on the Isle of Wight, and I could only fall over so many times and was in danger of breaking my ankle. So we wimped out and came home early but still had a great time while we were there.

People often ask me how I manage to get so much done, I’d like to say it’s about working smart, but I waste time, especially downloading music and wondering about what to buy (most recently which mobile phone and replacement voice recorder). I do like to research and to read reviews and more reviews. But, when I do focus I am very focused, and I also make good use of other people too - outsourcing tasks that can be done by others. Spurts of high productivity are a part of my personality style - INFP and its good for the people around me to understand this.
