Sunday November 8th
Last week I only lost ½lb and I felt so disappointed. This past week I’ve been even stricter – I’m cutting fruit out for 2 weeks and I’m taking psyllium husk. It’s been a slightly unusual week – I was at a conference for 3 days so that meant I had to switch my sessions with Ben to Monday and Tuesday. I’d hoped to be able to go to the gym whilst away but it is was too busy – it’s not just the time in the gym, but the time in making my hair look good afterwards.
Before the conference I’d given this some thought and planned for what I’d got coming up, it’s too easy to go with the moment and get yourself distracted from a goal. Not this time. I’d arranged for a special diet and even got to talk with the executive chef on arrival. I have eaten an awful lot of salad! So Wednesday evening I had a salad to start followed by steak and salad (should probably have chosen veggies to make a change), breakfast the next day was smoked salmon and a boiled egg; lunch was smoked salmon salad, conference dinner was halibut and salad with a salad to start. I actually was still a bit hungry and as I was sat with people eating and drinking I asked for some nuts for dessert, so that was good! Similar food on Friday. I still took my vitamins and did as much walking up stairs as I could, actually running up 2 and 3 flights of stairs. We didn’t get home till Saturday afternoon so couldn’t weigh myself till this morning so this weight loss is for 9 days not 7 – I was expecting a decent loss and I’ve got it – 4½lb yippee! Seeing the difference on the scales really makes me motivated. But its not just the weight loss it’s the fitness.
On Tuesday Ben changed my workout for the 3rd time – no more doing squats with a ball, now doing them just on my own – brilliant! Other exercises have changed, and I am really pushing myself, for example – Ben asked me to use a 8kg weight but I couldn’t find them so I went for a 9kg set. Yesterday I went on my own, did more than with Ben and as I couldn’t find the 9kg set pushed myself to use the 10s. I loved the way that the man next to me was using 8s! This week we’ve moved from the fast bicycling to rowing as fast as I can – this means I’m burning fat quicker!
I’m also reading up on health issues, and this week read about orange juice – the reason we drink it is all down to marketing by the Florida orange suppliers. Don’t take it – full of sugar and no fibre – far better to eat an orange instead.
Weight: (4½lb loss) total loss is 18lb.
