Being fit helps your brain
Tuesday, May 19th, 2009I’ve recently read an interesting article that refers to neuroscience research. It states that those with the fittest bodies also are the ones with the best brains.
Doing exercise can make learners significantly better at learning. Thirty minutes of vigorous aerobic activity provides an “oxygen advantage.” And this can last for up to 48 hours.
I’ve often recommended that people combine study with exercise, but I think this is also useful for when we have complex problems to solve at work. You probably have noticed that going for a brisk walk stimulates your brain cells and makes you more effective when you get back to your desk.
