I get many enquiries from my clients. Just had a few questions from a client.

My client said:"I know CVs must be tailored to each job, but how then do I send  a two page one to agencies? I will leave out a load of what I can do which means I wont be providing sufficent detail for every job I could do?

I said you do need to make your CV succinct, but there is no rule that it has to be a 2 page CV. What you need to do is to build a relationship with the consultants so they want to help you.

His second question was: "DoI have to send different ones to different agencies?"

I said you shoulf definitely target your CV to the requirements of the agency.  Also, when using job search sites you can use different CVs for different jobs.

He then asked about research.  He said that he had been to his local library to find out about compnies to apply to but said they don’t seem to have any business directories that would help me narrow down targets…

I said: you need to go to a business library or use an online site such as http://www.kompass.co.uk/

I hope this is helpful for you,
